Note

Teriyaki sauces vary in flavor. Make the sauce your own via the following additions:

  • sweeten simply by adding honey or maple syrup
  • make a mellow fruity flavor by adding a sweet juice like apple, blueberry, or pineapple
  • add salty flavor with soy sauce or tamari
  • add tanginess with vinegars like rice, vinaigrette, or lemon peel
  • add a nutty flavor with toasted sesame oil or ground toasted sesame seeds

Using pre-packaged stir-fry vegetables will save time.

Sliced vegetables will cook more evenly and prevent over or under cooked.

Steam broccoli if using fresh instead of frozen before use.

Cooking vegetables longer and adding a bit of water will make the vegetables less firm.
